Artist Statement

My paintings construct disjointed narratives that exist in a world of abstraction. This world is filled with characters that are derived from such things as antiquated video games, books that I find at thrift stores, and my imagination. In order to create these narratives, I draw with the paint using a geometric system of organization. I use this system to create art by navigating through a set of rules in order to extract hidden beauty and complexity.
