Artist Statement
Using my friends as subjects, my intimate portraits are exquisitely rendered using my signature materials of dust and oil. I gather dust from the environments pictured and re-situate my subjects in the reconstituted spaces. I have also added powdered paint to my repertoire of particles, with several works using this material in place of dust. My unique approach to representation results in portraits that feel concrete yet ephemeral, evoking the timelessness of matter.
