Artist Statement
It was around the age of four when I first picked up a pencil and began telling visual stories. I told stories of fact, fantasy, and a mixture of both. I am here 22 years later, still telling stories through painting. Using mostly acrylic, spray paint, and other various media on panel, I paint fictionalized, abstracted architectural spaces. These fictionalized spaces reference New York City buildings, subway tunnels, construction, and industrial-waste. Echoing my environment and my experiences of living in New York City, these spaces of dark and light, form and color, tell personal stories of struggle, adversity, and progression.
