Artist Statement
I am fascinated by the process of creation itself; the magic; the alchemy of transforming nothing into something.
I work very intuitively and place importance on the process. This partly determines in which direction the piece grows, or which direction I grow with the piece. It allows me to discover layers of meaning and intention I couldn't possibly experience in a rationally planned manner.
I explore my own personal webs of thought and narration and have been fascinated by the separate yet coexisting inside and outside lives we live. These include internal experiences like emotions, as well as external relationships we maintain with people, objects, places and events.
Storytelling and narration also play an important part in my work. I experiment with the association of different objects to create stories, which, in turn, create meaning or forms of discovery.
