Artist Statement
I am happiest with my work when it is symbolically meaningful in its process and physicality, and when there is a confluence between what I am depicting and the process by which it is depicted.
These portraits present a kind of deconstruction of the painting process. Each work is used in succession as a palette in the creation of itself and/or the next, forming a material connection from one image to the others, and from one individual to the another.
