Artist Statement

Cory Feder is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, ceramics, and animation. Inspired by a childlike perception of endless wonder, her work lingers on the interplay between the natural world, folklore, and the divine. Light pronounces itself as a consistent collaborator in her work as she pulls imagery and traditional carving practices from both her Korean and Jewish lineages. Most comfortable in the realm of ambiguity and the unidentified, Feder explores the latent possibilities of the collision of unnoticed miracles and one’s consciousness—the reaction that creates the everyday moment.
