Artist Statement

Elijah River Dion was born and raised in the urban areas of southern New Hampshire. In his wayward youth, Dion found himself waiting for the man and searching for working veins. Close to the edge, watching most fall over, Dion eventually came to believe in a power greater than himself. In spite of this revelation, he cleaned up and chose to be an artist.

Dion received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with Honors and Minors in Art History and Drawing from the Maine College of Art in 2019. His paintings expose sentiments of debasement, religiosity, and a world of reckless abandon—unreliable narration professing the myth of certainty.
