Artist Statement

Eric Mistretta’s work fuses elements of language and imagery to create visual hybrids that are at once familiar and resonant with a sense of strangeness and absurdity. His work explores the relationship between comedy and tragedy, highlighting scenarios in which the two forces ultimately depend on each other.
