Artist Statement
Through painting I reimagine experiences, using themes that
carry a narrative. I am interested in multiple interpretations of
personal events associated with a location, told within a space
between nonfiction and fiction. For example, Hemingway wrote
A Moveable Feast many years after his experience in Paris, basing
the novel on what he remembered, not confirmed facts or other
people’s point of view. My paintings function in this regard,
at the intersection of fabricated narratives based on physical
experiences within a place.
