I am more interested in painting, photography, and other forms of picture making conceptually rather than in relation to material. I look at appropriation and abstraction through the window of digital media. Sampling and remixing imagery mined from the Internet, such as abstracted favicons, icons, bits, and snippets stumbled on along the way—I create works through playful and irreverent quotation. The history and language of the pictures is subverted by their loaded social content and digital processes.
