Artist Statement
In my work, I examine beauty, fear, and the awe-inspiring, symbolized through visions of epic natural events. The paintings and drawings pull together the external and internal idea of the catastrophic—what I feel and observe in the world around me.
From this vantage point, the physicality of painting c onfronts the looming angst toward cataclysmic events. By interlacing a system of perceived opposites my paintings reach a state of rhythmical divergence.
I depict symbolic landscapes imbued with the complexity of the psyche. I examine the power of the human condition through the orchestration of visual elements, thus formulating a poetic response to the multifaceted human disposition.
