Artist Statement

I use egg tempera and watercolor for their translucent quality. By layering thin color washes, I achieve a somber color harmony. This quality, combined with a voyeuristic composition, evokes feelings of longing, loneliness, and calmness. My subjects are myself, my friends, my families, and the working class; I often blur their memories behind subtle, surreal imageries to express the grief and hope of my queer migrant experience.
