Artist Statement
I work to integrate my responses to a range of art historical narratives with my contemporary modernist aesthetic in an attempt to imbue abstract imagery with the same emotive weight of storytelling. My recent paintings represent a separate point within a cosmic battle between straight and curved. The images reflect the endpoint of a series of choices and possibilities for the hand and for the eye. I navigate a labyrinth of my own design and assemble a conglomeration of cartooned and animated abstract images that tell tragicomic tales of paths taken and not taken, possibilities seized or lost.
