Artist Statement
My rural environment has increasingly influenced my work. I investigate the color of humble things in everyday life: birds, insects, etc. Soft gradations of color in a reduced non-objective format allow for a fundamental, quiet examination. The goal is to do two things: create a template for the viewer to be seduced into the work, and to pay tribute to my subjects.
