Artist Statement

I am very grateful to be able to pursue what I do. When someone connects with a piece it is the most encouraging force an artist can hope for, and I am happy to still be chugging along. Among my favorite artists is Ray Harryhausen. My favorite sculptor is Jack Northrop. I enjoy the work of everyone from Ralph McQuarrie to Willem de Kooning and was very lucky to have Wayne Thiebaud as a teacher. Storm chasing, rattlesnakes, Star Wars, baseball, Beethoven, Carl Sagan, Ray Bradbury, and a labyrinthine Catholic childhood are just some of the influences you see here.
