Artist Statement
In much of my work I create semi-realistic representations of the women in my life, which show both my personal relationship to my subjects as well as my concerns about the treatment of the female in art and popular culture. In both my oil portraits and ink paintings, I create female figures who play with and challenge our notions of how women should behave and be seen.
