Artist Statement
I aim to recreate the nostalgia associated with neon lights,
presenting the viewer with something familiar in a different
setting. My intention is to create a sensory experience through
the presence and absence of light and pattern while cultivating
an awareness of the painting as object. My work challenges
the context of traditional painting by marrying digital design
elements with light to create a hybridized method.
