Artist Statement
The work I make stems from my need to explore my relationship to order and power. I attempt to investigate my exertion of control over disorderly forces. I create indeterminate marks and insist imagery will emerge, and that a narrative exists.
Through “pop” language, I explore the possibility for meaning where it may not otherwise be found. Exploring universal narrative and embodying a creative force allows me to challenge its structure. I’m transforming elements like the zigzag or the graphic mark, placing them into a composition with original drawing, and taking charge of a space to create an experience.
