Artist Statement
I make drawings to explore my ideas about the manmade and natural worlds. In describing these worlds, the vocabulary I use is specific to my experience: disjointed pieces of architectural structures are reconfigured to create useless fragile structures indicative of man-made constructs. Colorful, decorative marks and patterns allude to the natural, sensual, nonverbal realm. These worlds butt up against one another, and they also ebb and flow, giving way one to the other.
