Artist Statement

Kaye’s work delves into the body as a dynamic environment. Through her daily drawing practice, she regards the body as fragmented elements, then reconstructs these fragments repeatedly to form new shapes and landscapes. Each shape is cataloged, creating a visual alphabet that recurs across her body of work. These drawings serve as the foundation for her paintings. Kaye seeks to balance a tension between familiarity and disorientation in her art, creating a space where the recognizable and the enigmatic coexist.
