Artist Statement
I find that I have very little say about the way things are, there being
too many options, scenarios, instances, results, and reasons for
doing any one thing. The overwhelming number of possibilities
pushes me farther and farther into indifference. Using materials
that are seemingly unimportant, I create fields of mass that I
then cover with a unifying coat of paint. This paint, white or black
or metallic, frees the forms from their previous associations to
create a new, parallel experience. This transformation symbolizes
the acceptance and cementing of contemporary structures, while
giving viewers a second doorway through which to see what is
already in front of them.
