Artist Statement

My work is inspired by the memories, emotions, and thoughts that have defined my life. Since I am still a teenager, I use my work to document these experiences from the unique perspective of a child and adolescent.

I use mixed-media in most of my work, choosing materials that match each piece’s narrative. These materials have a personal significance or symbolism in order to assist my storytelling. The texture, color, and light in my work is composed to evoke feelings of warmth and nostalgia. I strive to create art that reflects the subtle beauty in life’s mundane moments, though I often fixate on the future instead of being present in the now. My work serves as a reminder to embrace the moments we have before we inevitably lose them.
