Artist Statement
I am interested in making abstract paintings that traffic in
representation. I want to use recognizable imagery as a means to
provide access for a viewer while the image as a whole engages
more formal and abstract dialogues. The work is a process of
translating art history, pop ephemera, and lived experience.
