Artist Statement

I have started to work in a new (old) medium, egg tempera. I am painting my way through the genres of American art: the portrait, the nude model, scenes from everyday life, and the landscape. Still working from the same source material as I have before: old Playboy’s and vintage nudist photos. Choosing the manmade (largely made for and by men) staged media as the life to draw from. Editing it in a way that the viewer has to fill in the blanks from the archetypes ingrained in our collective modern experience.
