Artist Statement
My artworks investigate human dynamics and neurological processes. My focus is on psychological, sociological, and genealogical patterns that occur within the context of my life and that of my immediate circles. Although the content of my work is personal, the themes are universal. Each artwork or series of artworks explores these themes and how they can be altered to create new patterns and thus new results.
I choose myself and my family and friends as my primary subjects because I believe that we learn through example and the stories of others. All of my artwork, whether painting, sculpture, drawing, or installation, is laden with symbolism.
When these concepts are delivered in visual form, they become a metaphoric map that is meaningful for both the subject and the viewer.
