Artist Statement
My work concerns the duality of the mind’s ability to transform
and mirror the physical realities surrounding it. Through imagery,
proximity, and reflection, the elements of space, time, and place
are modified to transport the viewer into a mental landscape.
These biomorphic constructs curate a sense of mystery and are
catalysts for bringing out differences in human perceptions. This
painting series utilizes collaged maps, recycled cardboard, scrap
material from other shaped canvases, and vinyl. The narratives
pose questions but give no answers. They remain undeclarative
statements for reflection and exploration.
