Artist Statement

The home as a built structure is such an important place for humanity. It’s something of a refuge or shelter, a means of protection and survival; something people can universally understand, conjure, and project their own feelings and memories upon. In the end, my works are images of houses. However, I hope the viewer feels invited to inhabit the work, metaphorically entering the image as they enter their own place of residence, or perhaps a memory of one they once knew, into a space that evokes the comfort of home.
