Artist Statement

Victor Lee is a Korean American artist whose paintings act as snapshots into his personal life and surroundings. He paints images based on his own experiences and opinions he holds on life events both personal and global. Tying his experiences as a Korean American into his paintings, Lee seeks to enter the discussion of identity. His loose strokes abbreviate the people, pets, and objects into shapes and lines, inviting the viewer into his world of abstraction.
